Sandra Gross
Owner, Educational Director, Instructor
MFA, Miami University, M.ED, Xavier University
Sandra fell in love with glass in graduate school in search of translucency in her work. Her journey took her to Pilchuck Glass School, The Studio at Corning Museum and Haystack School of Crafts. She was awarded one of the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards for the International Sculpture Society. She was a finalist in the Bullseye Emerge Show in 2004 and a finalist and winner in the Student Niche Awards for both Functional and Sculptural Glass. Sandy was also awarded Best of Ohio 2008, 2009, in 2009- winner of the Ohio Designer Craftsmen Labino Award for Glass. She is so excited to share her knowledge and her love of glass.
Leah Busch
Director, Instructor
MFA, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, BA, Kalamazoo College
Leah is a Cincinnati native who has returned after years creating art and exhibitions in Michigan, Chicago and Atlanta. Leah has studied glass at the Studio Corning Museum of Glass and Pilchuck Glass School. Director by day and painter by night, Leah is thrilled to bring new energy, exciting art exhibitions, and glass techniques to the community at Brazee Street Studios.
Angie Unger
Instructor, Glass Retail + Event Coordinator
BA Graphic Design, Xavier University
Angie is an expert instructor, bringing glass knowledge and ideas to her students. After completing her degree in graphic design from Xavier University, Angie now coordinates all prep and production for Brazee glass classes and custom projects. Additionally she is the event coordinator, planning custom events for clients all over Cincinnati.
Lauryn Jones
Lead Waterjet Technician + Custom Projects
BFA, Northern Kentucky University
Lauryn studied sculpture at Northern Kentucky University where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She loves working in different materials and has found a love for glass while working here at Brazee. She welcomes the challenge of working on custom projects and running the waterjet.
Emma Clixby
Kit Production + Development, Instructor + Sustainability Officer
BFA, Northern Kentucky University
Emma provides a fresh perspective at Brazee with her background in ceramics and passion for sustainability. While studying at NKU, Emma had a blast serving as the President of the Sculpture + Ceramics Society. Glass was a new material for Emma when she came to Brazee but she loved the challenge and opportunity to learn a new skill set. Living a sustainable life has always been important to Emma and she brings that determination to Brazee, keeping our studio practices and glass products as green as possible.
